FAQs
General Questions
What is goat rental for land clearing?
Goat rental for land clearing is a natural, cost-effective way to remove overgrown vegetation using grazing goats. Instead of using heavy machinery or chemicals, goats eat through invasive plants like blackberry bushes, ivy, and tall grass.
How many goats will be used on my property?
We bring anywhere from 10 to 50 goats, depending on the size of the land and density of the vegetation. Each goat consumes 2-5 lbs of brush per day, making them a highly efficient and natural brush-clearing solution.
How does renting goats work?
Our team delivers the goats, sets up a temporary electric fence to contain them in the designated area, and lets them work until the job is complete—typically within a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the size of the property.

Pricing & Process
How much does it cost to rent goats for brush clearing?
The cost of renting goats for land clearing varies based on the size of the property, vegetation type, and duration of the project. Pricing is typically based on acreage, time required, and terrain complexity, rather than a flat daily rate. Contact us with details about your property, and we’ll provide a personalized quote tailored to your needs.
How long does it take for goats to clear an area?
The grazing time depends on the size of the area and the density of vegetation. It can take a single day, up to a week, or even two weeks for larger or more overgrown spaces.
What is required from the property owner?
We need access to a power outlet and a nearby water source (faucet) to support the portable electric fence and provide water for the goats. If your property is in a remote area, let us know so we can discuss alternative solutions.
Do I need to be present during the grazing period?
You do not need to be present while the goats are working, but we do require access to the property for setup, monitoring, and removal. We periodically check on the goats to ensure they stay contained and are progressing efficiently.
Do you require any permits for goat grazing services?
No, our services do not require permitting because we do not disturb the topsoil. This makes goat grazing a hassle-free and environmentally friendly option for land clearing.
Environmental & Safety Questions
Is goat grazing safe for pets and children?
Yes! Goat grazing is safe, quiet, and chemical-free, making it a great option for families with children and pets. However, we recommend keeping pets away from the goats while they are working to ensure a smooth grazing process. Goats are friendly but should not be disturbed while they are focused on clearing vegetation.
What happens after the goats finish clearing the land?
Once the goats have grazed the area, we will cut any remaining stems and shoots they did not eat, leaving your land in better shape for maintenance or future use.
What types of vegetation can goats clear?
Our goats can handle most common Washington overgrowth, including:
Blackberries
Ivy
Tall grass
Salmonberries
Poison oak and poison ivy
If you have specific vegetation concerns, let us know during the consultation.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! We are licensed, bonded, and insured, providing peace of mind while we work on your property.
What happens if the goats eat plants I want to keep?
Goats are not picky eaters, so if there are plants, flowers, or trees you want to protect, we recommend fencing them off before the goats arrive. Our team will set up temporary fencing to guide the goats toward the areas that need clearing and away from anything you want to keep intact. If you have specific concerns, let us know in advance, and we can help create a grazing plan that protects your preferred landscaping.
